Meet Our Staff
 

Maggie Jackovitz
Maggie Jackovitz has been knitting for over twenty years. She enjoys color knitting and intricate patterns on small needles. Maggie enjoys the challenge of fixing mistakes as well as putting those finishing touches on your knitted project.. She loves sharing her craft with new knitters. The Knit A Long is her favorite happening at the shop. She loves her tea and chocolate, and has recently discovered the joy of crochet. When she is not knitting, she is running the trail with "Noah", her Portuguese water dog and following her three very active teenagers.

 

Harriet Bohle
Born and raised in Baltimore, Harriet learned the craft of knitting and crochet as a child from her mother and grandmother. She has enjoyed doing needlework for her 3 children and 2 grandchildren over the years and is an avid American history buff. She has been teaching living history of 19th century America at many local schools and museums. Harriet has been teaching knitting and crochet for over 25 years at many schools, senior centers and craft stores in the Baltimore area and is affectionately referred to as Ask Harriet  to help others solve their needlework situations.

           

Laura Brocato
Laura has been knitting and crocheting since childhood  and is still learning new techniques every day. She likes to knit cables and lace, make socks, work on small needles and is open to any knitting challenge. She spends her spare time with her family, plus two cats and her beagle. She enjoys reading Jane Austen and listening to music.

Judy Harris
Judy Harris has been knitting since she was 11. She loves all sorts of projects, especially socks, scarves, sweaters, and teddy bear clothes. Judy has lived in Bel Air for 8 years and works as a health education consultant. In addition to knitting, she especially enjoys reading, gardening, biking and visiting her daughter and son-in-law in New Orleans. She shares her home with her husband, godson, five cats, and LOTS of yarn.
 












 

Karen Frisa
After working as a computer programmer for 10 years, Karen now focuses her work on knitting and spinning. She has taught for many years at Knitters' Day Out and teaches regularly at The Mannings (East Berlin, PA) , Ewenique Yarns (Bel Air, MD), as well as for other yarn shops, knitting guild meetings, and at Harford Community College. While living in Pittsburgh she worked with a group of blind and vision-impaired knitters, helping them to revise patterns to suit their needs, their available yarn, etc. Karen managed Knitting Traditions, Beth Brown-Reinsel's mail-order knitting supply business, for 2 1/2 years. She also works as a freelance technical editor of knitting patterns for companies such as Interweave Press and Lion Brand Yarn.

Debbi
Debbi is very happy to be a part of Ewenique Yarns. She lives on a farm with her husband and has two daughters, three dogs, one cat and a pony. Debbi started needlework sitting next to her grandmother; (a tailor). She enjoys gardening and writing children's stories. She likes to knit sweaters and loves the wonderful colors and textures of the new yarns.

Rebecca
Rebecca has recently moved to Maryland, after being stationed in Heidelberg, Germany as an attorney with the United States Army Judge Advocate General Corps. (Yup, just like JAG on tv). She has been knitting for 20 years, and is always looking for new styles, patterns, colors or techniques to keep her inspired. She loves to work with 100% wool, favorites being Manos and Cascade 220. She is getting married in January to another attorney/soldier she met while in Germany.
